Robert Propes

Preconstruction Divisional Manager

Robert brings more than 35 years of experience in the electrical industry, built on a strong technical foundation and a career shaped by service, design excellence, and leadership. He began his career in 1987 as a power production specialist with the United States Air Force, working on long-range radar site power plants throughout Alaska while attending night school at the University of Alaska.

After leaving the military in 1992, Robert expanded his technical skill set by attending ITT Technical Institute for computer-aided drafting. He later joined Mack/Fischbach and Moore Electrical Contracting as the electrical CAD drafter for the St. Louis Rams Stadium project.

In 1996, Robert joined Bell Electrical Contractors as an electrical designer, working on a wide range of design/build projects including commercial buildings, hospitals, retirement facilities, and multifamily developments. He was promoted to Director of Electrical Design in 2005, later transitioning into electrical estimating and advancing to Director of Preconstruction and Design in 2017.

Robert moved to Utah and joined Winward in 2021 as Divisional Manager of the American Fork office and is now the Divisional manager of Preconstruction, overseeing a team of estimators for design/build and plan and spec projects.

Outside of work, Robert enjoys spending time with his family, playing the guitar, traveling, and cooking providing balance and fulfillment beyond his professional role.
